Lankans ready for Paralympics
Seven Sri Lankan sportsmen and women have
qualified to participate at the London2012 Paralympic Games, which
starts on August 29 in London. The 2012 Paralympic Games, which
would feature over 4,200 athletes from 160 countries who will

ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup:
Sri Lanka still in with a chance
Sri Lanka were beaten by South Africa by four
wickets in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Group ‘D’ match played
in Brisbane, Australia yesterday. With their second defeat out of
three matches, Sri Lanka is at a risk of an early exist in the

U-18 singles finalists found
Shamal Dissanayake trounced Chinthaka Shaveen in
straight sets (6/0,6/1) in the boys under 18 first semi-final and
booked a berth in the final when the 2012 Junior National Tennis
Championship was worked off for the fifth day at the Sri Lanka
Tennis Association (SLTA) hard courts yesterday.
