Seven UPFA rallies with President’s participation
The first main political rally of the United
People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) will be held under the patronage of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday in Anuradhapura. The second
main rally will be in Ratnapura. There will be seven rallies with
the participation of the President, UPFA General Secretary and
Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

Enjoining order issued against UNP on dismissal of NLC member
The Colombo District Court Judge M.Y.M. Izerdeen
yesterday issued an enjoining order preventing the UNP from
dismissing the National Labour Congress (NLC) member and Provincial
Councillor of Nuwara Eliya Ameerdeen Abdul Azis who contested the
last Provincial Council (PC) elections on the UNP ticket.
