The premier national sustainable energy event 'Vidulka 2012' exhibition will be held from August 17 to 19 at the BMICH for the third consecutive year. It will be held under the patronage of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) of the Power and Energy Ministry.

The Vidulka energy exhibition will pave the way for energy sustainability in the country and provide an ideal platform for the energy sector industrialists, manufactures, suppliers and innovators to showcase their products to commercial, industrial and residential energy users. Besides, the exhibition will be a forum for the academic and student community on the benefits and application of renewable energy and resources conservation.

"Energy related products and services will be showcased at the Vidulaka exhibition. The National Energy Efficient Award, Energy symposium and other corporate events are planned under the theme 'Today for Tomorrow' in line with the Vidulaka exhibition. These events will pave the way for the long term goal of achieving energy sustainability of the country.

"They are being held in parallel to the expectations of the Mahinda Chinthana Vision for the future, to develop the country as a dynamic global hub of energy," Director General of SEA Tusitha Sugathadasa said.

He said the public must use energy saving methods. For example instead of incandescent bulbs, consumers have to go for less energy consuming CFL or LED bulbs for lighting.

"That is why Vidulka will unveil state-of-art technologies in the sustainable energy sector aiming to make the public knowledgeable," Sugathadasa noted. "Organisations and professionals engaged in the field of energy management and renewable energy and the public, including the younger generation are invited to visit Vidulka 2012," he said.
