President to public servants:

Proceed with your duties as usual

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said daily functions of offices should continue uninterrupted despite the fact that Provincial Councils have been dissolved.

President Rajapaksa made this directive while making a sudden visit to Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

President Rajapaksa on his way to participate in the colours awarding ceremony at Kuruwita Army Camp, stepped into the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council office yesterday.

Sabaragamuwa Province Governor W. J. M. Lokubandara was having a meeting with the department secretaries when the President arrived at the Provincial Council premises.

The President also attended the meeting. He said the officials should be more committed to work for the people.

People's requirements should be prioritized, he explained. The President also instructed the officials to look into whether state vehicles are being utilized for any election campaign purposes.
