July strikers cause traffic jam

Traffic congestion was reported in the heart of Colombo yesterday morning due to a massive protest by July strikers near the Fort Railway station. Police closed one lane of the road opposite the Fort Railway station with barriers.

Protesters attempted to push down the barricades resulting in a tense situation. Two representatives were granted permission to visit the Presidential Secretariat. They were protesting against the negligence of their requests by successive governments.
