Chariot Restaurant re-launched
Chariot Restaurants was re launched with a new look and spicy new
menu under a new management. Managing Director of Chariot Restaurants
Shehan Gomez speaking to the 'Daily News Business', said that they would
open an outlet in Panadura this year. Chariot Restaurants is operating
an outdoor catering arm which handles all types of functions ranging
from large gatherings and corporate
events to kids parties. "We will also concentrate on the out door
catering market which would give us good returns," he said.
He said that they had also revamped their existing restaurants and
will be investing Rs. 50 million this year. "We also have plans to open
in Kandy and Jaffna next year."
Chariot food will soon be available at Dehiwela and several other key
locations. The Chariot chain of restaurants has recently seen a switch
in ownership.
Chariot short-eats are already served at the Odel store and are
proving to be immensely popular. "While they hope to retain their old
favourites at both the short-eats counters and restaurants such as milk
hoppers, iced coffee, their English chicken pie made to a British recipe
and special gateaux, there will be a whole host of new treats for
food-lovers tosavour. The new additions include ambarella juice, Jaffna
style crab curry, alabonda and suravarai."
Since Chariot Restaurants are best known for their value-for-money
range of Jaffna food, it is only fitting that their new logo should
reflect the vibrancy and energy of this colourful northern town. Even
the style and look of the chariot element within the logo is inspired by
Jaffna. "Our logo symbolizes our passion and commitment to our
business," he said
proudly. "Driven by our youthful spirit we've created a new vision
and mission for this well known chain of restaurants underlining our
goal to offer discerning customers great food at affordable prices," he
added.
Chariot restaurants have also been invited to serve at Orion, Empire
and Trillium residencies.
