International Star Gold Quality Award for SLSEC
The Sri Lanka State Engineering Corporation (SLSEC) won the
International Star Gold Quality Award for its high quality service at
the 16th Standards Conference and Awards Ceremony held in Paris on June
24 and 25 with the participation of institutions relating to various
fields from 74 countries.
The award was formally handed over to the corporation authorities by
President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday morning.
A press release by the President’s Media Division said the winning of
this coveted award by the SEC which is known as the Engineers of the the
Nation is a major international victory.
An initial election held with the participation of 100 countries, the
2010 turn over and net profit of the corporation, its proper management
under the guidance of the Construction, Engineering Services, Housing
and Common Amenities Ministry, the high standard of constructions
undertaken by it from 2011 to 2012, continued compliance to the
ISO9001-2008 standard certification had been the guidelines which helped
the SEC to won this award.
Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
Minister Wimal Weerawansa, Ministry Additional Secretary Mrs. K.W.P.
Dayaratne and SEC Chairman Jagath Kumara Perera and other officials were
also present on the occasion. |
