old history, the Kandy Esala Perahera is roaming the streets these
days, dazzling onlookers with its beauty and majesty. The streets
are illuminated and thronged with onlookers, both young and old as
well as locals and foreigners, as the colourful dancers, drummers,
flag bearers, whip crackers and elephants made their presence
signifying the unique festival which has become a cultural hallmark

In praise of Ananda College
I was ushered to the office and was waiting till
my turn came. A mother and a father with their little one, who
seemed to be a new admission, were seated in front of the big table.
My eyes were wandering from 'Our Mission' to 'Our Vision' and then
to the most venerable Balangoda Ananda Maithriya thera’s portrait
and then to the enormous trophies sitting majestically on a shelf.
