Gurukula book a berth in second round

Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya booked a berth in the second round of inter-school under 15 division one cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association when they crushed Chandrajothi Vidyalaya, Gampaha by 201 runs in the match played in Gampaha yesterday.

Selecting to bat Gurukula scored 307 runs with Lahiru Chamara 96 and Dumindu Themiya 71 and Rajapakse Sandeesha claiming 3 for 50 for the homesters.

In reply homesters were bowled out for 106 runs with Lahiru Chamara bagging 4 for 14.

Gurukula – 307 – Damith Lakshan 26, Lahiru Chamara 96, Nipul Maduka 23, Dumindu Themiya 71, Tharindu Taraka 37, Niranja Kavindu 2/40, Rajapakse Sandeesha 3/50.

Chandrajothi Vidyalaya – 106 – Damith Hasitha 3/21, Lahiru Chamara 4/14.
