Treasure hunters nabbed

Fourteen persons digging for hidden treasure at the Wahalkada (D1) quarry reserve in Horowpothana were arrested by the police on Sunday afternoon.

The suspects had dug to a depth of about 11 feet when the police arrived.

Police also seized some offerings from the suspects' possession. The suspects were due to be produced before the Kebetigollewa magistrate yesterday.

Investigations are continuing.
