Lankans remanded for killing in Oxford
Two men charged with the murder of Oxford farmer Sameera Chandrasena
in February have been remanded in custody for post-committal conferences
next month. Defence counsel for both men have until July 2 to decide
whether they will file oral evidence applications, for a preliminary
hearing of evidence ahead of a trial.
Otherwise, the Crown's paperwork on the case has been filed with the
courts and the defence and the case will go to a post-committal
conference on July 6.
The men are jointly charged with arson of a house in Domain Road and
murder of Chandrasena at Oxford on February 23.The men aged 23 and 33,
both Sri Lankan-born and are living in St Albans.
The body of Chandrasena, 28, was found after a suspicious fire at his
rented home.
