PS member remanded in cheating case

Bulathsinhala Pradeshiya Sabha UPFA member Lakmini Anupama Panditharatne arrested by the Colombo Crime Division in connection with a cheating case was remanded until June 26 by the Matugama Magistrate. Police reported that Panditharatne was arrested for being involved in an incident where Rs 400,000 had been obtained from a woman in Govinna, on the pretext of securing a job in Korea through a person called Ranjith Koralage.

Investigations revealed Panditharatne allegedly introduced Koralage who posed as a Coordinating Secretary to the President.
