Colombo stocks closed in green yesterday and benchmark indices recorded positive returns. ASI closed at 5,059.29, up 61.19 points (+1.22%). MPI closed at 4,505.16, up 43.11 (+0.97%). Daily market turnover was Rs.533.6 million. Retail investor interest HVA Foods recorded the top turnover of Rs.50.6 million with heavy trading. Further, Hayleys (Rs.33.1 million) and Carsons Cumberbatch (Rs.23.4 million) contributed notably to the daily turnover. Heyleys recorded a crossing of 98,600 shares at a price of Rs.330.00 per share. Retail investors were active during the day and hefty retail participation was seen in speculative stocks Meanwhile, PC House and newly debuted Ramboda Falls traded heavily throughout the day. Ramboda Falls was among the top five gainers of the day.
