Eco Solve going global

Eco Solve (Pvt) Limited, a Sri Lankan LED bulb manufacturing company is looking at opportunities overseas.

Eco Solve (Pvt) Ltd. is the brainchild of its Managing Director Indika Nettasinghe who had a vision of creating a lighting solution that would completely revolutionize today's market. The idea initially was explored in 2006 when Nettasinghe went on a fact finding mission to China's electrical hub in Shenzhen. Commercial lighting using LED's was unheard of during this time.

In 2010 together with Prasanna Edirisinghe, an electrical engineer by profession, the duo further explored the idea which was already getting attention in industrial countries such as China, Taiwan and Korea.

Encouraged by the potential they discovered, Eco Solve (Pvt.) Ltd was started in 2010 with the idea of providing totally customized LED lighting solutions to their clients. They have been able to do so because of the adaptable nature of the LED bulb which can be moulded into any type of unconventional solution their clients would require.

Their first major commercial venture got underway when Thilakawardana Textiles (Pvt) Ltd commissioned Eco Solve to provide lighting for their showroom in Nittambuwa. It was a key project where the location required an area of 14,000 square feet to be illuminated.

Since then, the company had secured and completed around 90 projects to date, with approximately 27,000 LED bulbs fitted in homes, factories, showrooms, offices and other locations islandwide.

LEDs known as ‘Light Emitting Diodes’, are small and very efficient solid bulbs. The company imports LED's manufactured using the USA made ‘Bridgelux’ chips. Together with the LED Driver which supplies power they now have a product that thrives in Sri Lankan conditions.

Today, LED technology is advancing rapidly, with Eco Solve manufacturing many new bulb styles which given their small size and low profile allow them to be used in spaces that are too small for other light bulbs in the local market.

The benefits of using LED lighting out-perform conventional lighting in almost every way. Global warming today is a threat to the natural eco system and has reached epic proportions. The switch to LED lights from conventional lighting will dramatically reducing carbon dioxide emissions released by millions of conventional CFL and incandescent bulbs. It is probably the most cost effective way to tackle global warming using existing technology. LEDs use at least 65% less energy than CFL bulbs, with the potential to save up to 90% off your lighting energy bills. In addition, LEDs are more efficient in application than incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, which waste energy by scattering light in all directions. The savings that will be reaped by users will be substantial in the long term with investments covered usually in 3 to 7 months.

LED lighting is safer than both filament and fluorescent bulbs as they contain no toxic mercury and generate less heat. Additionally they last much longer, require very little maintenance and since they can be fitted anywhere, Eco Solve is fast becoming sought after by clients to meet their lighting needs.

Eco solve is also probably the only local lighting company that has an in house R and D department that constantly strives to improve their products.
