Ashvini of Lyceum excels at chess

At the Sri Lanka Schools Individual Chess Championship 2012 (Colombo
District) held recently, at Thurstan College. Ashvini Pawalachandran of
Lyceum International School Nugegoda emerged 1st Runner up in the Under
7 Girls category.
She was also the equal champion at the Sri Lanka Schools All Island
Individual Chess Championship held at Bandarawatte Parakrama Maha
Vidyalaya in Gampaha from 8th to 10th June 2012.
Ashvini is a very keen player who attends practices regularly. She
has brought credit to school by been selected to represent the country
at the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2012. Ashvini is also a good
swimmer. |
