Karapitiya needs new police station
People of Karapitiya, Galle and the public who
in many thousands come to the emerging city daily for their
requirements, vehemently urge the establishment of a permanent
police station in place of the existing police post. Karapitiya, an
urban locality in Galle, has within a very short period of time,
emerged as a greatly urbanized region with newly set up state
institutions and numerous commercial enterprises.

Police recover body
The Grandpass Police had found the body of a 29
year old youth with cut injuries in the neck last evening. According
to the Police Media Unit, the body was found near a housing complex
near the Orugodawatta fly over. The body with severed neck is
believed to have been thrown from the third floor of the housing
complex. Grandpass Police are investigating.
