Navy seizes ganja haul
The Sri Lanka Navy seized a haul of cannabis in
the general area Periyagamman along with a person. According to Sri
Lanka Navy sources, the raid had been conducted by the naval troops
attached to the SLNS Gajaba of the North-Central Naval Command.

Fishing trawler rescued
Sri Lanka Navy had rendered assistance to rescue
a multi-day fishing trawler which had been grounded close to a rocky
point off Trincomalee Harbour, on April 19. The trawler Senaka - 7
from Dewundara with four crew members on board, had met with the
mishap around 7.00 pm whilst attempting to enter the harbour to
unload 3,000 kilograms of fish.
