Lanka has doubled FDI's - President

HNB raises US$ 50 m overseas loan

Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) yesterday signed an agreement to raise US$ 50 million through a 5 year long term loan from the China Development Bank Corporation (CDB). This is part of the bank's capital raising plan which commenced in mid-2011 to raise over Rs. 20 billion in equity and debt capital.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa uses an iPad to switch on an innovative 3D video mapping technique at the Brandix stall at Sri Lanka Expo 2012, which opened yesterday. One of the highlights of the stall was the use of video mapping to attire a mannequin in apparel manufactured by Brandix for top international labels. Brandix Group CEO Ashroff Omar and CEO Corporate Marketing M. Raghuraman and EDB Chairman Janaka Ratnayake were also present. Brandix is Sri Lanka's largest apparel exporter and the Strategic Partner of Expo 2012.
