Nenasala opens in Abu Dhabi

The first ever overseas Nenasala was launched in Abu Dhabi for the benefit of Sri Lankans in the United Arab Emirates recently.

The Nenasala is located at the Sri Lankan embassy in UAE and is staffed and operated by the people working at the embassy as well as volunteers. Sri Lankan nationals currently in UAE will have the opportunity to communicate with their relations in Sri Lanka with greater ease and minimum cost through this initiative, the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) said.

Over 300,000 Sri Lankans are currently employed in UAE, of which 45 enjoy white-collar jobs and the rest, middle and lower rung jobs. This overseas Nenasala will focus on providing free IT and English knowledge training for expatriates to develop their skills to match with the changing occupational needs in the world. (IH)
