Zahirans qualify for quarters

Zahira College, Maradana qualified for the quarter finals after an exciting match against Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa, where they beat Cambrians by 34 runs in their pre-quarter final 50 over limited over match of the Dialog under 19 cricket championship played at the Ananda Sastrlaya College Grounds,Kotte yesterday.

Taking the first lease of the wicket Zahira College scored 193 runs in 48.5 overs with the help of Mohamed Maheel (42) and Imraz Rafi(39).ThilanNimesh was the most impressive among the bowlers with three for 32.

In reply, Cambrians were able to hit 159 for 32 overs. AshenMendis (33) and Kusal Mendis were the main batsmen to avert the bowling pressure from Zahira side. Pradeep Ananda (three for 35) and Irshad Umar (three for 24) were the main wreckers of the Prince of Wales batting line up.

Zahira College won by 34 runs and qualified to the quarter finals.
