Pindapatha Poojawa

The Maha Pindapatha Poojawa, featuring offering of Pindapatha alms to
100 monks, will take place at the historical Maha Pali refectory in
Anuradhapura, on September 3.
This religious ceremony is being organized by the “Ethul Nuwara
Samastha Baudhayange Urumaya Surakeeme Sangamaya” (Association for
protecting the heritage of all Buddhists living in the inner-city) with
the participation of several other and voluntary orgnaisations under the
direction of Chief Incumbent of Poorwarama Viharaya Ven. Pothane
Dhammananda Thera.
One hundred monks will arrive at the Poorwarama Viharaya, under the
guidance of Head of Anuradhapura Sri Sarananda Pirivena Ven. Girambe
Ananda Thera who will wend their way along the subways in the inner city
collecting Pindapatha alms offered by devotees and reach Sangamittha
Mawatha and enter the historical Maha Pali refectory where the alms will
be partaken of. |
