Youth shot dead at B’day party
A youth was shot dead following an argument at a
birthday party in the Dedduwa area in the Bentota Police zone. The
victim Manoj Priyankara (27), was a resident of Horana, Poruwedanda
area.

Wealthy businessman arrested with contraband cigarettes
The Special Intelligence Operations Unit of the
Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau has arrested a wealthy
businessman who had allegedly imported a Gold Seal brand cigarette
haul worth Rs five million without paying duty, in a raid in
Periyamulla area in Negombo on Monday night. The haul consisted of
184,200 cigarettes.

The Adhivasi member who injured a security
