Trinity win on faster run rate

Trinity College, Kandy scored their ninth successive win in the schools under 17 Division One Cricket Tournament when they beat Maris Stella College Negombo by the narrow margin of seven runs on the parabola system in the second round match played at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy.

Trinity College 147 all out in 41.1 overs (Lakshitha Dassanayake 25, Thavidu Makuldeniya 18, Ron Chandragupta 19, Nilupa Rupasinghe 4 for 49, Prasanna Jayamanne 3 for 29).

Maris Stella College 103 for 7 in 29 overs (Roshan Madusanka 11, Pushpa Perera 14, Chanaka Fernando 16, Amrith Srimohan 2 for 28, Lakshan Jayasinghe 3 for 9).
