MCNS alerts on consequences:
Violators of law w arned
The government will take legal action against
those who take the law into their hands, damage public property and
assault public officials, Media Centre for National Security (MCNS)
Director General Lakshman Hulugalle said yesterday. He said that
certain groups are trying to change the existing peaceful
environment in the country earned after a great effort, by
attempting to create a commotion.

Caught on CCTV camera
Horana Police arrested a suspect who had stolen
Rs 200,000 and a phone worth about Rs 40,000 from a vehicle which
stopped at a medical centre in Horana town. A CCTV camera had helped
Police to identify the suspect.

Counterfeit notes seized
Nittambuwa police seized 48 counterfeit notes of
Rs 1,000 denomination and 60 Rs 500 notes during a raid. On a
tip-off from an informant, Police recovered the counterfeit notes in
two locations.
