CIC invests in Rs 400m vineyard

Gets 500 acres in Northern Province:

CIC Agri Businesses will invest Rs 400 million to construct Sri Lanka’s only mass production vineyard. The vineyard will come up in the Northern Province. The company will obtain a 500 acre land on a long term lease to put up the vineyard and also grow grapes.

Lanka Challenge 2011 begins...: Lanka Challenge 2011 tri-shaw challenge supported by the Tourism Ministry with TVS Lanka (PLC) as the main sponsor and Connaissance de Ceylan as the official travel partner is now in progress. A 12 day event where the participants will travel around the country in three-wheelers saw a total number of 10 teams consisting 25 international participants taking part. Some of the competitors enjoying the ride at the competition.

July sees highest tourist arrivals: Tourist arrivals increased by 32.3 last July as against the previous year. Last month 83,786 tourists visited the country with India recording to 12,587 and UK 12,003 arrivals. The total number of arrivals stood at 83,786.
