Lorry driver arrested

Baduraliya Police arrested a suspect for knocking down a man at Batahena in Kelinkanda area. M Yasawardena (35) of Batahena was run over by a lorry. He died on the spot. The suspect was produced in Mathugama Magistrates court and had been remanded till August 26.

Woman knocked down on crossing

A women succumbed to her injuries when she was knocked down on the zeebra crossing by a bus at Olcott Mawatha, Gunasinghepura junction. The deseased, P Lalitha was a resident of Pallegoda, Pitigala. The bus driver was produced before Hulftsdorp magistrate and ramanded till August 25.
