Moves to help Kilinochchi people

The Kilinochchi Security Forces Headquarters held a six hour joint meeting with senior public servants, bank officials, Police officers in the Kilinochchi area to discuss ways to assist the people and the measures to take against anti- social incidents. During the meeting held on Sunday headed by Kilinochchi Security Forces Headquarters Major General Nandana Udawatta, the officials discussed with the bank managers possibility of granting special loan schemes to the newly resettled people.

A spokesman for the Kilinochchi Security Forces Headquarters said that the officials also discussed the latest situation of the people's response to the mythical anti-social elements.

The documentary video film produced by the Defence Ministry in response to the Channel 4 video footage was played and copies of the videos were given to each officer.

The officers also took up issues related to new attitude of civil society, violation of law and order and the future use of the Iranamadu air strip as well.
