The Police produced a man, before Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Lanka Jayaratne, who had allegedly shown obscene pictures and used foul language on a woman while travelling in a bus.

The incident had occurred on a bus plying on route 177 between Kaduwela and Kollupitiya.

It was alleged that the suspect had shown the woman obscene Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS's) on his mobile phone. The suspect had been taken to the kollupitiya police station after the woman had reported the incident to the conductor of the bus. After hearing submissions made by the police, the Judge remanded the suspect till September 1.
