BoC in US $ 10 mn credit line to Maldives

Bank of Ceylon (BOC) Chairman Dr. Gamini Wickremasinghe, after his recent visit to the Maldives initiated a revolving credit line of US$ 10 million to the Maldives.

This will result in developing bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and the Maldives generating more benefits to Sri Lankan exporters of fruits and vegetables and will also pave the way for the small farmer groups to find a market for their produce.

The official ceremony announcing this arrangement was held at the Ceylon Continental Hotel on August 18 with the participation of Maldivian President Ahmed Nasheed.

Representatives of Maldives government and Bank of Ceylon officials participated.
