US corporates extol Lanka’s economic virtues

Twelve frontline United States multinational corporates, including Fortune 500 Brands - Boeing and Coca Cola, have written to the US Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton, the US Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and the US Trade Representative Ron Kirk, paying glowing tributes to the performance of the Sri Lankan economy and asking for a US- Sri Lanka Business Coalition.

Tuticorin ferry service gaining ground

The Colombo, Tuticorin passenger ferry service (Scotia Prince) is gaining popularity and plans are underway to increase the service. This ferry service commenced last June and is operated twice a week. “Since we see a growth we are looking at increasing the service to three per week,” Flemingo Liners CEO P.K Thimmaya said.

The People’s Leasing Headquarters was also opened there to mark the 50th anniversary of the People’s Leasing.
