Nalanda, Anula Vidyalaya swimming champs

Nalanda College, Colombo emerged overall boys champions by collecting 319 points while Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda won the overall girls championship of the Mahinda Rajapaksa All Island Swimming Championships concluded at Thurstan College Swimming pool on Sunday.

St. Sebastian's College (225 points) secured the second place in the boys category and Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya (400 points) became girls runner up.

St. Sebestian's College with 220 points grabbed the trophy for the Senior Champions boys leaving behind Nalanda College (178 points) at second place and with their 264 points.

Sirimavians won the Senior Girls' trophy while Anula Vidyalaya became the runners up with 196 points.

In the Junior boys' category, D S Senanayake College (142 points) were only one point ahead of the runner up Nalanda College and Anula Vidyalaya (211 points) were far away from the second place winner, Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya in the junior girls category.

The two day event was organized by Thurstan College Old Boys Union while 1200 swimmers from 74 schools participated. Sri Lanka Aquatic Union judged 146 events including individual and relay events.

Under 12 Boys - Kavindu Perera - D S Senanayake College (50 Points)

Under 14 Girls - Rasika Arunodani - Anula Vidyalaya (50 Points)

Under 14 Boys - S Rajapakse - Asian International School (47 Points)

Under 16 Girls - Isuri Wijesinghe - Leeds International School Panadura (37 Points)

Under 16 Boys - Nandana Pushpakumara - Asoka Vidyalaya (37 Points)

Under 19 Girls - Ishani Senanayake - Samudradevi Balika Vidyalaya (42 Points)

Under 19 Boys - Udara Abeysinghe - Thurstan College (42 Points)

Junior Champions School Girls: Anula Vidyalaya (211 Points)

Junior Champions School Boys: D S Senanayake College (142 Points)

Senior Champion School Girls: Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya ( 264 Points)
