SLAF opens K’nochchi airstrip
Sri Lanka Air Force yesterday opened an airstrip
in the former LTTE stronghold of Killinochchi with the landing of a
Y12 aircraft. Air Force Commander Air Marshall Harsha Abeywickrema
was on board the aircraft. This airstrip is situated seven
kilometres away from the A 09 road and about a km off the Security
Forces Headquarters in Killinochchi.

CID to track computer crimes
A Cyber Crime Unit (CCU) and a Digital Forensic
Lab have been set up by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
to assist the public who have been deceived by organised computer
crime. This Computer Crime Act No.24 of 2007 was presented for
Cabinet approval by the then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on May
2, 2005.
