Colombo FC edge out Mawanella

Colombo Football Club edged out Mawanella United Sports Club by 1-0 in their Priemier League Division two stage four encounter at Peradeniya University Grounds on Sunday.

Ajith Grero of Colombo FC scored the winning goal in the second half and they will meet New Star Sports Club at City Football Complex at stage five on July 24.

In group B , Matara City Sports Club had no difficulty to win the match against Solid Sports Club, Anuradhapura by 3-0 at Mihintale University Grounds on Saturday. K D Nilanga Sandeepa found the net twice in both halves and Nuwan Shashikapriya scored a goal in the first half. SLTB Sports Club defeated Hyline Sports Club, Kandy by 4-1 at Shalika Grounds on Sunday in another group B game.

A H Nissanka Jayaweera and A H C Nuwan Jayaweera scored two goals in the first half while M A L Dinara added two more in the second half. Only consolation goal for Hyline came from Hapuarachchi.
