Ministries responsible in providing relief to Northern people - Social Services Minister

“The community in the Northern province had suffered for the last three decades.

“Therefore, great responsibility falls on all ministries to provide facilities to them to uplift their livelihoods,” said Social Services Minister Felix Perera.

The minister was addressing the special social service programme which was held in Trincomalee, Thambalagamuwa divisional secretariat recently under the patronage of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Deputy Minister Susantha Punchinilame and Minister Felix Perera.

All projects commenced under the Social Services Ministry will be completed in the near future, Minister Perera added.

The projects include issuing Identity Cards to elders, holding eye clinics, providing Grama Niladhari services, donating crutches and wheel-chairs, and providing Rs. 3,000 monthly allowance for special persons.
