ICASL to overview nation's progress
As Sri Lanka begins making massive inroads towards large scale
infrastructure and economic development, the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will overview the nation's progress
towards the future, through an edifying seminar titled 'Economic
Outlook' on July 21 from 5.30 p.m. at the ICASL Auditorium, Colombo 7.
The seminar will be presented by International Monetary Fund's (IMF)
Resident Representative in Sri Lanka Dr. Koshy Mathai and will focus on
the 2010 Annual Report of the Central Bank where Sri Lanka's economy
progress and achievements will be highlighted.
As post war Sri Lanka focuses on improving the once volatile economy,
while also implementing large scale infrastructure projects from power
plants to highways, the ICASL, in keeping with its role as the national
accounting body of the country, has organized this seminar realizing the
importance of this topical subject.
Resource person, Dr Mathai took up his posting as IMF Resident
Representative for Sri Lanka and Maldives in October 2009. Prior to
that, he has worked in numerous countries including the United States,
Turkey and Zambia.
