Lankans get morale boosting win prior to Test
Sri Lanka cruised to a 39-run victory in their
warm up game against England Lions just three days away from the
first Test. The victory was mainly achieved with the help coming
from the pace men doing a fine job to restrict the England Lions to
total of only 183 runs. The Sri Lankans set a target of 222 runs for
victory for the home team.

yesterday at the Pannala Circuit on a grand note with nine year old
Jaden Genewardene creating history. Young Gunewardene and hid
brother Aaron was at their best to stun the two Indian riders who

Shakir wins boys u-18 singles title
M A Shakir displaying top class tennis clinched
the under-18 singles title defeating top seed Aritha Weerasinghe in
straight sets 6/2, 7/6 (4) in the final encounter at the Sinhalese
Sports Club (SSC) Open Tennis Championships. Shakir maintained a
flawless record in the tournament by beating N Nishangan and
Chinthaka Shaveen in straight sets during their previous meetings.
