Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy and Trinity College, Kandy won the girls and boys athletic championship respectively at the zonal meet organized by the Dept. of Education, Kandy recently at the Bogambara Grounds, Kandy.

1st place - Mahamaya Girls College (311 points)
Runners-up Sri Rahula Katugastota (218 points)
3rd place - Girls High School (134 points)
4th place - St Anthony's Convent - K'tota (113 points)
5th place - Pushpadana Girls College (89 points)
6th place - Hillwood College (64 points)

Boys Results:

1st place - Trinity College (247 points), Runner up - Ranabima Royal College, Gannoruwa (151 points), 3rd place - St. Anthony's College, Katugastota (136 points), 4th place - Dharmaraja College (121 points), 5th place - St. Sylvesters College (120 points), 6th place - Sri Rahula, Katugastota (117 points).
