National VB Championship Div. II reaches final stage

The final round matches of the the National Volleyball Championship Division II will get underway on 23 and 24 April 2011 at the Public grounds, Nawalapitiya. The tournament is being conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation with the Ceylon Biscuits Limited being the main sponsor of the tournament.

A total of 36 teams (18 men and 18 women) have qualified to compete in the final stage of the tournament. The finals of Division II tournament will be held along with the finals of the Super League matches on 7 May 2011 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo.

Hon. Minister of Sports, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation Minister Dilan Perera, Nandana Wicramage, Group Director Ceylon Biscuits Ltd and host of distinguished invitees are due to attend the opening ceremony on 23 April 2011 at Nawalapitiya. In the Super League of the National Championship, Sri Lanka Navy will meet Sri Lanka Ports Authority in the men's category while Sri Lanka Air Force will play Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau team.
