New deadly riots hit Nigeria
A new outbreak of deadly post-poll riots hit
northern Nigeria overnight as soldiers patrolled the streets Tuesday
after President Goodluck Jonathan and his defeated rival called for
calm. Authorities have not given a death toll for the rioting that
began sporadically over the weekend over allegations of vote rigging
and quickly spread to some 14 states on Monday.

European republicans flock to Britain
Anti-monarchists from across Europe are jumping
on the royal wedding bandwagon in Britain in the hope of using the
event to boost their republican campaign. Led by the British group
Republic, campaigners from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands,
Belgium and Spain will descend on London for the April 29 nuptials
of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey.
