Kalutara PS holds inaugural meeting

The inaugural meeting of the UPFA-led Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha (PS)
was held at its auditorium recently presided by Chairman Lakshman
Vidanapathirana and Deputy Chairman Sanjeeva Ariyaratne.
Nearly all Pradeshiya Sabha members were present at the first
Pradeshiya Sabha session.
Kalutara PS comprises 12 UPFA members including the Chairman and
Deputy Chairman, seven UNP members, two Independent members and one JVP
member.
“I assure you of an honourable, respectable, exemplary,
people-friendly Pradeshiya Sabha, with the honest help of both our party
members and the Opposition,” said Chairman Lakshman Vidanapathirana
addressing the members.
“Let’s unite and work together,” he added.
He expressed his intention to conduct all sessions with the full
cooperation of all the members without discrimination.
“Let us take the Mahinda Chinthana policy to the village to empower
the villagers,” he said.
He urged all members to work together to make the Kalutara PS the
most efficient PS in the island.
Chairman said that he would consider to build an official rest room
for the members, to issue CGR identity cards and appoint development
committees to monitor road repairing projects.
He called upon all UNP, JVP and Independent Group members to
participate in the development work in the area.
