Softlogic Information Technologies appointed Alienware distributor
Dell’s premier gaming brand :
Softlogic Information Technologies (Pvt) Ltd one of the premier IT

Alienware at a recently held event in Colombo.
PC Gamers in Sri Lanka now have five new ways to level up with a

expected to develop by 25 percent year over year, a company spokesperson
said.

UCSC BIT Convocation :
ESOFT students bag best results
Students who have studied for the University of Colombo School of
Computing (UCSC) BIT (Bachelor of Information Technology) Degree at the
ESOFT Institute of Computer Studies were able to obtain best results
this year also.

ESOFT students Dasun Nilanjana, the
2011 Batch Top, who bagged the Prof. V.K. Samaranayake Gold
Medal, the Best Project Gold Medal and a First Class Degree
and Virangya Seneviratne who secured a First Class at the
BIT External Degree Convocation held recently at the BMICH.

The convocation of the eighth batch of students that obtained the BIT
Degree from the Colombo University was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial
International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the aegis of the Colombo
University Vice-Chancellor and UCSC Director Prof. Gihan Wickremanayake
recently.
This is the fourth time that ESOFT students obtained the best results
in the BIT Degree Program of the Colombo University consecutively. The
best student at this year’s convocation was Dasun Nilanjana of ESOFT. He
obtained the BIT Degree with a first Class and bagged the Gold Medal
awarded in commemoration of UCSC founder the late Prof. V.K.
Samaranayake.
The Colombo University awards this Gold Medal every year to the best
student of the year. Further to that, Dasun Nilanjana secured the annual
Gold Medal for the Best Project and another bright ESOFT student,
Virangya Senevirathne, was able to secure a First Class.
One hundred and forty (140) students obtained the BIT Degree at this
convocation and half of that number, 70, was students who had studied
the BIT Degree Program at ESOFT. Out of these 140 students, 21 students
obtained First Class and Second class Degrees and 13 students were from
ESOFT.
According to these statistics, this year also, the students who had
studied for the Colombo University BIT Degree at ESOFT obtained the best
results for the fourth year running.
The University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) is a pioneering
institution in the ICT higher education field. The UCSC, which
celebrated its 25th anniversary recently, conducts Internal Degree
Programs, External Degree Programs, Diploma Programs and Post - Graduate
Programs. The UCSC launched the Bachelor of Information Technology
External Degree, now widely accepted nationally and internationally, in
the year 2000.
ESOFT is Sri Lanka’s largest computer education institute with the
most number of branches located island-wide where all the computer and
ICT educational programs can be followed at very reasonable rates, all
under one roof.
ESOFT has been conducting classes for the BIT Degree since the year
2000, when the Colombo University launched the BIT External Degree.
ESOFT has an experienced, well-qualified and expert panel of teachers
who are able to teach, give practical training and advise on projects
for the BIT External Degree. ESOFT is one of the three institutions that
conduct classes for the Moratuwa University BIT External Degree.
The British Computer Society (BCS), the Chartered Institute for IT
has conferred the Accredited Course Provider status on ESOFT to conduct
