SEC mulls commodity exchange

Directives to strengthen capital market :

The introduction of the commodity exchange to the Sri Lanka’s capital market is at an early stage. The Securities and Exchange Commission Sri Lanka (SEC) is exploring possibilities of having a commodity exchange in the country and obtaining the necessary information.

Noritake achieves Rs 1.7 b turnover target

Noritake Lanka Porcelain has recorded a total turnover of around Rs 1.7 billion during this year. The company expected a Rs 1.7 billion early this year and has achieved their turnover targets.

Shangri-La delegates meet President : Representative of the world renowned Shangri-La hotel chain Madhu Rao and his delegation met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees recently. Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Finance Ministry Secretary Dr P B Jayasundara and Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabraal were also present.
