Malaysian HC visits Hambantota, HDCC
Malaysian High Commissioner Rosli Ismail visited the Hambantota
District on December 27 and 28.

The High Commissioner started his visit by visiting Navajeewana,
rehabilitation and social inclusion centre supporting community based
programes for disabled at Tangalle.
In the evening he was received by Malay communities in Hambantota and
the Ambalantota Malay colony who organized get-togethers to share Malay
tradition, history and culture. It was a rare opportunity for Malays in
the Hambantota District.
The Malaysian High Commissioner and his First Secretary Nor Akmal
Abdul Manap visited Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce (HDCC) and
met with officials.
The HDCC officials comprised Senior Vice President, Past Presidents,
members of the Board of Directors and Senior Managers. Discussions were
very cordial and fruitful and both parties agreed to work together to
build good relationships with local businesses and to investigate joint
projects in the fields of industry, agriculture and tourism. A cross
section of representatives of member companies also participated.
During the visit the High Commissioner took the opportunity to
exchange views and obtain background knowledge and information about
HDCC, its activities and the development projects taking place in the
Hambantota District. |
