Physical fitness award ceremony in the Central Province

Physical Fitness Award Ceremony was organized for the first time by the Central Province Sports Ministry headed by the Secretary, Ms Shirani Weerakoon assisted by the Sports Officers of the Central Province Sports Ministry and it was held throughout the year. The ceremony was held at the Dharmaraja College Auditorium on December 21, 2010.

This was monitored by the Doctors of the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital and the Medical Faculty of the University of Peradeniya.

After careful tests they categorized the participants to award Super Gold, Gold, Silver, Bronze and General.

84 participants got the General Awards, 13 Bronze, 10 Silver, 12 Gold and five Super Gold. Five Super Gold Awards were won by the following: WA Chathurika, P Chrishanthi, J Jayaweera, KMU Priyadharshana and S Amaradasa.

These awards were presented by the Minister of Sports (Anusha Sivaraja, Governor of Central Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Minister of Health of Central Province Keerthi Amaratunge and Director of Sports HG Ariyaratne.
