Robbery foiled, one killed
A robber was killed and another arrested during a
shoot out with the Police as an attempt to rob a pawn shop by a
three member armed gang in Maharagama was foiled yesterday morning.

Counselling for prisoners
The Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Ministry
will conduct psychological counselling programs for prison inmates
aimed at strengthening their mental abilities when they enter
society, Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Minister Chandrasiri

Police get tough with drug dealers
Galewela Police has intensified raids to nab
persons involved in trafficking drugs. One hundred and thirty one
raids were conducted in November on the direction of Galewela Police
OIC Roshan Perera. Several nabbed for offences were produced before
Dambulla District Magistrate and fined Rs 651,200.
