SMS Holdings sets up plant

The northern area of the country is a novel market for pre cast items
used for construction industry and road construction.
A manufacturing plant in the area will cater to the demand while
providing the pre cast items at a reasonable price, SMS Holdings (Pvt)
Ltd, Managing Director Chairman Shehan Senevirathne told Daily News

He said that the Company decided to set up a manufacturing plant in
Vavuniya with an investment of Rs 60 million.
The company expects the new plant to be the central location to cater
to the demand of areas such as Mannar, Anuradhapura, Mullaitivu,
Kilinochchi and Jaffna.
“The new manufacturing providing plant provided 80 direct job
opportunities while 60 indirect job opportunities initially.
The production stage of the plant will start in early January next
year.
We can provide additional 100 direct and 150 indirect job
opportunities at the second stage,” he said. |
