Technology vital for development - Minister

Sri Lanka has missed several technological waves which have flown across the globe since country’s independence. There were technological revolutions such as Electronic, ICT and Bio Technological revolution.

But unfortunately within last six decades Sri Lanka couldn’t adopt to those technological waves said Technology and Research Minister Prof. Tissa Vitarana. Nanotechnology waves are now spreading across the world. Sri Lanka shouldn’t miss this opportunity. We should walk with these technologies to overcome the technological challenges” he said.

Asian countries like India, South Korea, Thaliland and Singapore have won those revolutions. Without technological improvements Sri Lanka couldn’t achieve economic development, said Vitarana opening a Vidatha Resources Centre at Thalawa, Anuradhapura.
