Cabinet nod for Constitutional changes
The Cabinet of Ministers yesterday approved the
proposed amendments to the Constitution which includes the removal
of the two term restriction on the Presidency, re-organization of
the Independent Commissions under the 17th Amendment and enabling
the President to sit in Parliament, once in three months.

Ranjan threatens TV host
Ratnapura District UNP Parliamentarian and film
star Ranjan Ramanayake has threatened to end the media career of
Dilki Samanmalee who conducts the Derana TV political talk show 360
Degrees. "I will end your daughter's media career," Ramanayake had
threatened Samanmalee's father.
