The parade to hand over the UN flag to the 12th contingent of Sri Lanka Army’s Peace-Keeping Force bound for Haiti was held at Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Headquarters in Ambepussa. The contingent comprising 749 soldiers is to be Commanded by Colonel A.M.R. Dharmasiri while Lieutenant Colonel K. Liyanage will function as the Second in Command. Lieutenant Colonel C.U. Victory Parade Friday

Scenes from the recently concluded war will be re staged with the coordination of all three Forces, the Civil Defence Department and the Police at the National Victory Day Celebrations at the Galle Face Green, Friday, Army Media Spokesman Prasad Samarasinghe said.

Mason files F/R against Moratuwa police

The Supreme Court yesterday granted Leave to Proceed with the Fundamental Rights application filed by a mason who complained to the court that the Moratuwa Police had illegally arrested and wrongfully implicated him in a heroin case.
