Suspension of train services

The following train services have been temporary suspended from today until further notice due to the work to rule campaign of the Railways technicians, Commercial Superintendent Sri Lanka Railways Vijaya Samarasinghe said in a press release yesterday.

The train starting from Colombo Fort at 10.35 a.m. and reaching Matale at 3.30 p.m. and the train starting at 3.30 p.m. from Kandy reaching Colombo at 6.55 p.m.

Train starting at 9.25 a.m. from Colombo and reaching Thandikulam at 7.20 p.m. and train starting at 6.45 a.m. from Thandikulam and reaching Colombo Fort at 3.25 p.m.

Technicians of the Railways had started the work to rule campaign in spite of the fact that the railways authorities had recommended an increase of salary to the Salaries and Cadres Commission.
